SONS OF ALABAMA
A WAR HE DIDN'T BELIEVE IN. A PROMISE HE COULDN'T BREAK.

BOOK SYNOPSIS

A haunting Civil War saga in the tradition of Cold Mountain. SONS OF ALABAMA follows a conflicted soldier fighting a war he doesn't believe in, determined to survive and return to the woman he loves, no matter the cost.

The spring of 1862 brings war to the Alabama heartland, tearing apart the quiet community of Big Creek in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. Facing certain conscription, Harrison enlists with his best friend Green Smith and decides to bring his innocent brother Daniel with them. He has no other option.

For Harrison, a promise is sacred. He's vowed to return to his beloved wife Nancy, to protect Daniel, and to see Green safely home to his wife Julia. His integrity becomes both his greatest strength and his heaviest burden as the war tests whether any man can honor such vows and survive.

From Stones River to Appomattox, each battle extracts its price in blood and innocence. Harrison, raised by an abolitionist father, fights for a cause he cannot support but is forced to defend, watching friends fall as he struggles to keep Daniel alive and his promises intact.

But war takes its toll on both fronts. At home, Nancy and his family struggle to survive with Harrison, Daniel, and four other brothers gone to fight across the South. As the Union army closes in on Big Creek, the peaceful world he left behind crumbles, and he's powerless to protect them.

Every promise demands a price. Every battle takes its toll. Harrison vows to return to the life he left behind, but as the war consumes both fronts, one question haunts him: if he survives, will there be anything left to come home to?
